Life of Crime[]
The Shakedown Thug used protection rackets as a means to illegally gain money from Mrs. Chen. He entered the store and asked for a bottle of whiskey and his "change". He threatened her with a gun before Mrs. Chen paid him. Afterwards, he left the store, but not before reminding Mrs. Chen to pay him in the following week.[1]

- "You come in here again... In fact, you go anywhere in this city, preying on innocent people, and we will find you and we will eat both of your arms and then both of your legs. And then we will eat your face right off your head. Do you understand?"
"No. No. Please..."
"Yes. So, you will be this armless, legless, faceless thing, won't you, going down the street like a turd in the wind? Do you feel me?" - āVenom and Shakedown Thug[src]
One night, while Eddie Brock was at Mrs. Chen's store, he once again entered the store and threatened to kill Mrs. Chen if she did not give him money. Brock saw this and transformed into Venom, threatening to eat most of his body. The thug, confused and scared, asked him who he was, in which he responded, before eating him whole despite the thug's pleas.[1]

The Shakedown Thug was menacing to everyday people, and even killed for money. Mrs. Chen was one of the people he targeted, and he forced her to give him money, showing no hesitation. However, he easily got scared if something out of the blue came into the picture.
