"When a rhino sees his opportunity, he doesn't hesitate. He charges in and takes it."
―Aleksei Sytsevich[src]

Aleksei Sytsevich was a Russian criminal known as the Rhino, who was rejected by Nikolai Kravinoff for a mutual alliance, causing Aleksei to begin a campaign to rise to power in a gangster position, leading to conflict with Kraven the Hunter after kidnapping his half-brother, Dmitri Kravinoff, but in their war, Rhino transformed into his enhanced form, although Kraven killed him.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Hunting the Tsar Lion[]

"I'm a guest here of Vladimir. Aleksei Sytsevich."
"No. You do not have a name. In this world, you barely exist. So what can some non-name, non-existent, condition-suffering fool offer up to the Kravinoff? Nothing. I am here teaching my sons the joy of stalking. And you and your imbecilic voice are stalking me. So be quiet."
―Aleksei Sytsevich and Nikolai Kravinoff[src]

Born in Russia, Aleksei Sytsevich was born with a chronic illness that caused him bad breathing, walking deformities, and below average strength, causing him to pause several times while walking. At some point in his life, Sytsevich began working as a hunter in a team led by Vladimir. To complete his greatest work, the team was hired by Nikolai Kravinoff to travel to nothern Tanzania in search of the head of the legendary Tsar Lion, a legend about a lion with supernatural abilities to survive, having hunted all the men who ever tried to hunt it.

Having arrived at the place and having set up camp, at night, Sytsevich heard the sound of a roar, wondering if it could be the Tsar Lion, being answered by Kravinoff on how the roar would have to be louder to be the Tsar. Listening to the conversation regarding Dmitri Kravinoff, Sytsevich asked Kravinoff if he had seen this beast before, to which he responds by telling about how he saw its victims, killing two or three dozen men.[2]

Aleksei mocked by Nikolai Kravinoff

In the morning, walking with the team, Sytsevich tried to talk to Nikolai Kravinoff, but was stopped by him because of his bad breath, to which Sytsevich explained about his chronic illness. Back to the topic, Sytsevich proposed to Kravinoff to be partners, given that he always thought about the future. Kravinoff then asked his name, being explained by Sytsevich how he came. However. Kravinoff cut him off to mock about how he was a non-existent fool to the Kravinoffs with nothing to offer, being an condition-suffering fool and that he was stalking him with his imbecilic voice, which left Sytsevich offended.[2]

Warren's Treatment[]

"I was underestimated, too. In and out of hospitals, they never quite knew what was wrong. I knew I would never have your father's respect, or anyone else's, until I was strong. I tried everything. And then... I found someone in New York. A biochemist, A professor, Miles Warren. He was developing a procedure to increase strength tenfold. I signed up on the spot. My skin, it started to harden. I was indestructible like a rhino. But the pain... It was too much. I think there is an animal in each one of us, Dmitri."
