Dr. Connors became well-known enough to the Americans to be used by The Daily Bugle as a word for their newspapers' crosswords.[1][2]

- In the comics, Curtis Connors was a military surgeon who had his right arm amputated due to an injury. In an attempt to get his arm back, Connors tried to use a serum of lizard DNA to gain regeneration powers, but due to a failure, he was turned into a reptilian monster known as the Lizard.
