A Codex is the combined life force of a symbiote and its host, that is created when a symbiote revives its host from the dead. It is also capable of forging a key that can release the elder god Knull from his prison on Klyntar.
History[]
A Codex was created when Venom resurrected Eddie during their battle with Carlton Drake/Riot and it became detectable by Knull when Eddie and Venom got transported to Earth-616.
The only way to destroy the Codex is either the Symbiote or its host dies.
