This could refer to an exact six months, meaning the scene jumped from October 22, 2018, or more generally the scene was "during October 2018" (approximating with mid-October, October 16, 2018). A weighted calculation, putting more weight on the more specific, places the prologue of Venom as occurring from October 18, 2018 to October 20, 2018. This fits with an email shown early in the film titled "Northern California Law Association 2018 eNews", indicating a 2018 setting for the prologue.

The main events of the latter film firmly begin on October 28, 2020 (see 2020 references). Taking Serkis' quote to mean 1 year and 6 months, he could have been referring to a near-exact 6 months (around April 28, 2019), or more generally "October - April = 6 months" (approximating with mid-April, April 15/16, 2019). Putting more weight on the more specific, a weighted calculation places the end of Venom on approximately April 24, 2019.
